About Seventy-Five Percent (75%) Of The Workers To Be Engaged By Ekcel Farms Will Be Of Anambra Origin With About Fifty Percent (50%) Of Them Taken From The Host Community.
The project will focus on the cultivation and complete processing of Cassava and Tomato, with five percent (5%) shares designated to Omasi community and held in custody by the State, ten percent (10%) to Anambra State. Also, another five percent (5%) of the company’s annual profit would be ploughed back to the community as part of Ekcel farm’s Cooperate Social Responsibilities (CSR) and this will be utilised in the establishment of health centres, roads and other infrastructures to better the living conditions of the people of the host community.
We shall help the community develop co-operatives through our out-growers scheme. This will encourage local farmers to cultivate cassava and tomatoes which we shall buy back from them for processing and in return it would help farmers in the community to generate instant revenue.
Also worthy of note is our resolve to expose the local farmers to the benefits of agricultural research in the areas of deployment of improved varieties, land use maximiza¬tion, crops utilization and other agricultural best practices through our partnership with several agricultural research institutes like the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and National Root Crop Research Institute (NRCRI).
We would create jobs for the youths, bring massive development to the area as well enhance the economic development of the state. About seventy-five percent (75%) of the workers to be engaged by Ekcel Farms will be of Anambra Origin with about fifty percent (50%) of them taken from the host community.
